The rematch between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin has been postponed until 2021 after the Russian was admitted to hospital with COVID-19.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that the fight, which was due to be held on Nov. 21, would now happen on Jan. 30, 2021 in a statement on Tuesday.
“Firstly we want to wish Alexander Povetkin a speedy recovery,” Hearn said.
“This is a challenging time for shows. There will be lots of ups and downs over the next few months. We look forward to the fight happening in late January.”
Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs), 40, knocked out Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs), 32, with an uppercut in the fifth round to win the pair’s fight in August.
