Ireland captain Sexton to miss key France clash

Ireland will be without captain Johnny Sexton when they face France in Paris on Saturday after the fly-half sustained an hamstring strain in training on Wednesday.

Coach Andy Farrell named his team to take on France on Thursday after his side’s opening win against Wales.

Joey Carbery will start at fly-half and be partnered by Jamison Gibson Park. Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose continue in midfield.

The back three consists of Hugo Keenan at full-back and Mack Hansen and Andrew Conway on the wings.

James Ryan has been handed the captain’s armband and is joined at lock by Tadhg Beirne. Caelan Doris, Josh can der Flier and Jack Conan make up the back-row.

Andrew Porter, Ronan Kelleher and Tadhg Furlong complete the front-row.
